Counseling & Psychology Resources - About Gary S. Indenbaum, Ph.D.
Dr. Gary Indenbaum graduated with his Ph.D. from The American University in Washington,
D.C., is a member of the American Psychological Association, the North Carolina Psychological
Association and is currently president of that association’s Division of Independent Professional
Practice. Dr. Indenbaum is a Licensed Practicing Psychologist and Health Services Provider in
North Carolina and is certified with the North Carolina Family Evaluation Program.
His clinical experiences have included work with children, adolescents and adults as well as
with couples and families in crisis. He has worked extensively with families going through
separation and divorce and has testified as an "expert witness" in matters of child custody and
parental competence. Dr. Indenbaum has also assisted individuals struggling to cope with serious
medical illness, physical disability and traumatic injury. He is experienced in the administration
and interpretation of various psychological tests including specialized evaluations in the
areas of Clinical Neuropsychology; Fitness for Duty; Forensic Evaluations; and Pre-Surgical
Assessments.
Dr. Indenbaum has directed departments of psychology in medical, psychiatric and rehabilitation
centers. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at various colleges and universities,
been a speaker at local, state and national meetings, as well as for schools, businesses and
professional organizations. Dr. Indenbaum founded Counseling and Psychology Resources in
1985.
