Gary S. Indenbaum, Ph.D. founded Counseling and Psychology Resources in 1985 and is a
licensed practicing psychologist in North Carolina. Dr. Indenbaum’s extensive training and
experience includes work in medical, psychiatric, rehabilitation and outpatient settings. He has
worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and has with specialized training in
the field of geriatric psychology. He has taught undergraduate and graduate level courses at the
university level; been a presenter at local, state and national conferences; testified as an expert
witness in child custody, personal injury and criminal cases; and has additional postgraduate
training and experience in the field of clinical neuropsychology. In providing psychotherapy
services, Dr. Indenbaum’s guiding philosophy is to provide problem-focused assistance to help
a person in coping with and overcoming life struggles. The goal is to help each person develop
the understanding, skills, and strategies needed to cope with or solve their own problems.
Psychotherapy is a process that creates a “safe place” where each person’s individuality and
values are respected. The therapy process is designed so that the client and therapist work
together to find the unique path that is best for the client.
